A lot of plastic waste issues from hygiene products. In addition, the use of certain products encourages deforestation, animal cruelty and releases undesirable particles in the water. Simple solutions however exist.
Toothbrush - a source of plastic than can be replaced.
Toothbrush - a source of plastic than can be replaced. A study from Lyne et al. found that manual toothbrush production can be altered to improve the environmental sustainability and impact on global human health. The studies found that it was continually recycled plastic, rather than bioplastic or bamboo, that was the most environmentally sustainable toothbrush model. The data is displayed in the table below. DALYs, are the disability adjusted life year.
