Energy
We use energy for everything. From your household lights, airconditioning, to the very device you are reading this website on! Let's try to understand your impact and what you can do to reduce your energy consumption. There are two main ways to manage energy: how much is being consumed (and by whom) and which kind of energy. Find out which kind of energy is more sustainable depending on the location and alternatives to non-renewable energies.
Education
An obvious way to act is to practice and encourage others to not waste energy. However, educating yourself also on the different kinds of renewable energies available and the real energy consumption of things.
For example, did you know that Netflix uses more energy for you to watch one movie than for the same movie to be burned on a CD, transported to your home and played?
Here are a few fun websites you can use to learn more about your impact.

Science based decision
In order to move away from our dependence on coal and other fossil fuels, advances in renewable energy must be made. Ultimately, if renewables become cheaper and more accessible, this will accelerate the transition to a world powered by clean energy.
If you are someone within the STEAM field, you can start learning more about renewable energy research within your country. And even contribute to the development of the field. Here are some research teams that may interest you. List of Organizations

On a smaller scale, connecting with individuals who share and discuss climate research on social media, is also an excellent way to start a conversation and brainstorm solutions.

Political Engagement
Each country and region have different ways that they supply and provide energy. To ensure that we stay under the 1.5 C global average temperature, as recommended by the IPCC, governments worldwide must transform energy dependence on coal, oil and gas toward renewable sources of energy.

Energy on a large scale can be a matter of international geopolitics. However, you can start by being vocal in your local communities, urging them to adopt renewable energy. Another unconventional yet effective way to drive change is to invest in companies helping transition away from fossil fuels (not financial advice). You can learn more about this here
